Now just get ready to unleash nature’s seasonal interesting platter, to beat these winter monsters!

Have lots of warming foods like soups, casseroles and oatmeal; use warming winter herbs and spices in your cooking like pepper, ginger, cinnamon, garlic, onions, cloves and the Chinese herb astragalus. Infact your daily cuppa Chai spice tea, can easily get you lots of these wintery spices.

All of us are well aware of the healing benefits of green tea …so if you are unwell, go for 3 to 4 cups of plain green tea. You can also add herbal teas to your routine. Eat a sweet potato a few times a week; try baked sweet potatoes, sweet potato soup and even a sweet potato smoothie or hummus. Further go for a detox spinach soup or just add a few spinach leaves to your morning smoothie!

Indulge in a freshly squeezed carrot juice, carrot miso soup (which offers even more healing benefits) or carrot salad. Don’t forget to add green peas to soup, stews, wraps, salads and you can even toss a few into your next green smoothie! And don’t you dare forget the goodness of fresh green juice, carrot juice, tomato juice, orange juice – all of them with ginger!

Then there are pumpkin seeds, which you can have raw and unroasted whenever possible as a simple snack or add them to your bowl of creamy oatmeal or your smoothie. Also add a variety of probiotic rich foods which include cultured and fermented foods to your diet. In addition, eat less sugar as it depresses the immune system.
